The Parker Weekly January 22, 1940

“Jean Stern’s and Ted Gorey’s basketball mural, a combination of Diego Rivero [sic], Salvador Dali and Botticelli, which depicted the audience as a player views it after just having missed the basket, did much to decorate the gym.  Orchids to Stern and Gorey, and to Bod Wilson for the basketballs”

During this period, he drew a number of stylish young ladies in evening dress and swim suits.  And his interest in pretty girls was reflected in his response to The Parker Weekly’s inquiring reporter in December 1940.
