A Selection of Anchor and Image Books Covers Designed and/or Illustrated by Edward Gorey
Together with two proofs for rejected cover designs.
Proofs are provided courtesy of the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust. Gorey often discreetly signed his covers. Anchor did not have a consistent practice of identifying the artist and/or the designer of the covers. Sometimes the names are on the verso of the title page, sometimes on the back cover, sometimes with a small signature, sometimes not at all.
